The FCC approved North Dakota’s waiver to expand the use of VLAW31 to include fire and EMS activities along the U.S. Canadian border.  North Dakota is working to duplicate some of the success achieved by the State of Montana with a similar waiver.

STATE OF NORTH DAKOTA, REQUEST FOR WAIVER OF SECTION 90.20(D)(41) OF THE COMMISSION’S RULES.   Grants North Dakota a waiver of Section 90.20(d)(41) to use VLAW31 for multi-discipline communication within 25 km of the border with Canada. Action by:  Acting Chief, Policy and Licensing Division, Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau. Adopted:  03/08/2017 by ORDER. NORTH CAROLINA STATE HIGHWAY PATROL, REQUEST FOR WAIVER OF FREEZE ON INTER-CATEGORY SHARING.   Grants North Carolina State Highway Patrol a waiver of freeze on inter-category sharing so it can license a Business/Industrial/Land Transportation channel.
