Michigan Seeks Waivers to Share Spectrum

The Michigan Department of Technology Management and Budget, on behalf of Michigan’s Public Safety Communications System (MPSCS), has filed requests with the FCC for three waivers to allow MPSCS to share its 800 megahertz band spectrum with three utilities – Great Lakes Electric Cooperative, Home Works Tri-County Electric Cooperative, and Presque Isle Electric & Gas Co-op. The waivers would give the utilities “access to and use [of] the MPSCS system for exchange of critical information with government agencies,” according to the waiver requests.
