The First Responder Network Authority’s (FirstNet) Public Safety Advisory Committee (PSAC) has established task teams to focus on local control issues as well as on identity, credential, and access management (ICAM) matters. The task teams began their work last week, PSAC Chairman Harlin McEwen said in a blog posting today. The chair of the local control task team is Barry Fraser, who represents the National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors on the PSAC, while the chair of the ICAM task team is Chris Lombard, who represents the InterAgency Board, Mr. McEwen said. “FirstNet has asked the PSAC task teams to submit their findings later this year,” he noted. “In addition to focusing on these two areas, FirstNet has requested the PSAC to coordinate efforts with the Public Safety Communications Research (PSCR) Program research and development project.”
