The National Public Safety Telecommunications Council (NPSTC) periodically publishes news of interest, including releases from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and links to articles from various trade publications.

NPSTC will be participating in the International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) Public Safety Communications Stakeholders Forum in Orlando, FL, on January 29-30, 2014.

This workshop is open to the public and all public safety agencies are encouraged to attend.  Presentations will be made by the Federal Communications Commission’s Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau on current issues involving the 700-800  MHz spectrum.  Updates will be provided on the latest efforts to create public safety requirements for FirstNet, and about new proposed nationwide channel naming standards for interoperability, and other current trends affecting first responders. There will be a Q&A session after each presentation to allow local officials to ask questions. Please join us in improving public safety communications and interoperability through collaborative leadership. Together we can create one unified voice for public safety.
