What does it mean for a first responder to truly be protected? What can go wrong when responders aren’t reliably connected to one another? When responders are fully aware, how much more efficiently can they serve the American public?

Join the Department of Homeland Security Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) and the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO), for an interactive conversation on the new Next Generation First Responder program. We’re working with responders, industry, innovators, developers and technologists to make first responders better protected, connected and fully aware – and we want your input!

By bringing together diverse voices in open collaboration, S&T and APCO are working to shape the future of public safety. We’re focusing on improving responder technologies – including wearables, Internet of Things (IoT) systems, deployable networks, enhanced personal protective equipment, interoperable data standards, resilient communications systems and integrated smart communities – to enhance the operational effectiveness and safety of our nation’s first responders. We want to hear from you about how innovative technologies can revolutionize emergency response efforts and serve as anchors for innovation and resiliency across the country.

Come visit S&T at the APCO 2015 Conference Exhibit Hall—Booth #1915— for more information on the Next Generation First Responder program, technology demonstrations and more!
