OnStar LLC and General Motors Company have asked the FCC to grant special temporary authority if necessary to OnStar to allow it to continue operating while the Commission reviews an application to transfer control of authority from the U.S. Treasury to GM’s board of directors. The filing was submitted Oct. 16 in WC docket 15-246. Meanwhile, OnStar and GM have submitted an amendment to a joint application for transfer of control. “At the request of Wireline Competition Bureau staff, the request for waiver of Section 63.03(a) to obtain prior approval for transfers of control was removed,” the filing said.
