TR Daily Notes: NPSTC Weighs in on LightSquared Test Plan

The National Public Safety Telecommunications Council said in an ex parte filing that Roberson and Associates, a consultant to LightSquared, has made improvements to a planned test plan to assess the compatibility between terrestrial broadband and GPS operations.

However, the federation said it still has some concerns with the plan. In an ex parte filing yesterday in IB docket 12-340, NPSTC said, for example, that improvements would be helpful concerning issues such as the signal level used for testing and testing of the 1545-1555 megahertz band. But NPSTC said it was pleased that Roberson and Associates modified an earlier version of the test plan in response to public safety concerns expressed by the federation.
