April 14, 2017–The National Telecommunications and Information Administration has announced an April 26 meeting of the multistakeholder process on Internet of things (IoT) security upgradability and patching, which is aimed at developing shared definitions related to security upgradability for consumer IoT devices.
“The main objectives of the April 26, 2017 meeting are to share progress from the working groups and hear feedback from the broader stakeholder community. Stakeholders will also discuss their vision of the timing and outputs of this initiative, and how the different work,” NTIA said in a “Federal Register” notice today. The IoT security upgradability and patching multistakeholder process began its work last September.
